Digital Strategist
The Digital Strategist helps identify unmet needs, goals, opportunities and challenges in the digital realm for Douglas Shaw & Associates and its clients. They create and oversee the execution of a plan through specific initiatives to meet the objectives of the strategy.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Strategic:
- Assist in defining the project scope, timeline and approach for all digital initiatives
- Advise clients and the client services team on strategy across a variety of digital projects including: annual plans, digital integration of campaigns, email marketing, and template redesigns
- Establish, record, and optimize digital processes for the internal DSA team
- Serve as a resource for the creative team to elevate digital assets provided to DSA clients
- Develop, implement, and report on testing strategies to determine and improve upon the success of digital campaigns.
- Research new technologies and digital offerings
- Function as digital go-to person to client services team and executive staff
- Serve as a backup for other members of DSA on the design and development teams depending on comfort level and ability.
Client Facing:
- Advise clients on digital projects, new initiatives, and technology choices
- Providing training and monitor the digital handoff of tools and websites that DSA creates
- Serve as a strategic consultant and resource for clients on all digital efforts
- Guide clients on testing initiatives and strategic ways to improve results
- Recognize issues in ongoing client initiatives as well as help avoid pitfalls during planning and execution stages
- Serve as a client facing member of the DSA team to inspire confidence in our internal digital capabilities
REQUIREMENTS:
- Requires a bachelor’s degree in graphic design, web design, computer science, information systems, or equivalent experience, plus a minimum of 3-5 years of related professional experience
- Experience in a variety of digital disciplines including web design, web development, email marketing, social media, and direct response fundraising.
- Nonprofit experience preferred
- Proven experience using a variety of content management systems, with extensive experience within WordPress
- Experience using a variety of email platforms
- Ability to use analytical tools to interpret data and build insightful reporting
- Strong analytical, decision-making, and organizational skills
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to error reduction
- Comfort leading meetings and giving presentations to staff and clients
- Continues to learn and explore industry trends and bring to the table innovative ideas and complex thinking
- Experience leading large digital initiatives
- Candidate should be capable of working with minimal supervision in a deadline-driven environment and possess strong teambuilding and interpersonal skill
Reporting Relationships
The Digital Strategist reports directly to the SVP of Digital Solutions.
Special Considerations
Since the agency currently works largely for evangelical Christian nonprofit organizations, a unique sensitivity to client style (beliefs, culture, and preferences) will need to be exercised.
