Doug has been serving nonprofit organizations all across the nation.  He, together with his wife Stevey, founded Douglas Shaw & Associates, Inc. (DSA) 14 years ago with a strong desire to serve organizations with their fundraising needs. During his years of service, Doug came to value a donor-focused approach for its effectiveness in generating donor response. When he and his wife, Stevey, founded DSA, they began offering their clients a fully integrated approach to communication and fundraising called Donor-Focused Strategic Marketing™. Doug is a graduate of Simpson University and Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, California.

 

Stevey Shaw, Executive Vice President for Culture

As co-founder and co-owner of Douglas Shaw & Associates, Stevey stays actively engaged in all aspects of developing policy for the firm. Along with her passion for the organizations served by DSA and all of our employees, she is an expert in human relations having served in key personnel positions with Wells Fargo Bank, World Relief Corporation and many others. Her personal experience with non-profits serves DSA and our clients well.  Stevey holds a B.S. degree in psychology from the University of Texas, Dallas and is completing her Master of Arts in Global Leadership (MAGL) at Fuller Theological Seminary.    

 

Michael Johnson, Senior Vice President

Chief Marketing Officer

As a primary player on the agency's new business team, Michael develops and executes proactive strategies that generate opportunities for the agency to gain clients in new and existing market segments. Michael brings a wealth of fundraising, marketing and advertising experience to DSA, having formerly worked as vice president of advancement for the Slavic Gospel Association for seven years. Prior to that, he worked for a number of large consumer advertising agencies in New York and Dallas. His clients included Procter and Gamble, Johnson and Johnson, Smithkline Beecham and Pizza Hut. Michael is a graduate of California State University, Northridge and received an honorary doctorate from the Union of Evangelical Christians-Baptist Churches of Ukraine for his work in that country.

 

Eric Streiff, Senior Vice President of

Client Services

As the Sr. VP of Client Services Eric’s objective is to exceed the expectations of each client DSA serves by offering passionate customer service and innovative strategic insights. He brings a depth of knowledge that spans more than twenty-five years and includes extensive experience in marketing, strategy, creative services, management and all aspects of fundraising, including direct mail, major gifts, planned giving, DRTV, telemarketing and on-line initiatives. Eric previously served as Vice President of Development for the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews and the Executive Director of their Canada Division. In this role, he oversaw major gifts, planned giving, direct mail, Internet, DRTV and telemarketing. Prior to this he held the position of Executive Director & CEO for The Missionary Association, an international, faith-based organization working with the poor in more than 70 countries. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Skidmore College and a master’s degree in direct and interactive marketing from New York University. During his professional career in New York City Eric was an adjunct professor of marketing and advertising at New York University, Baruch College and the Fashion Institute of Technology.

 

                 Billy Vaudry, Vice President

Creative Director

In his role as creative director, Billy leads DSA in developing breakthrough fundraising and marketing strategies relevant to today’s ever shifting fundraising landscape.  Billy has a rare combination of skills, not only in the creative area, but also strategy expertise and the ability to assimilate and translate brand personality.  He knows how to put the appropriate amount of resources into each account and serve any size client efficiently and effectively. Having Billy as a key member of our team is part of DSA’s continuing strategy to remain on the cutting edge of fundraising and marketing for nonprofits.  Billy is eager to make an immediate, noticeable and lasting difference among DSA clients so they can further their mission and ministry.  Prior to joining DSA, Billy was vice president of creative services and creative director for Stratmark Group.  He won an Addy for a Feed the Children campaign and two Direct Marketing Association Echo awards, including one for an American Bible Society campaign, during his tenure there.  Billy also served as fundraising consultant and associate creative director for KMA Direct Communications, where he won two Echo awards for World Vision campaigns.  Billy was also director of communications for Episcopal School of Dallas. He holds a bachelor of arts degree in communications from Spring Hill College in Mobile, Alabama.

 

Wiley Stinnett, Vice President

Senior Media Strategist

Wiley plays an integral role in providing strategic leadership that aligns our ministry clients’ broadcast programming with their direct marketing activities. He has served as Director of Marketing with RBC Ministries which included all direct response for RBC radio programs and print (Our Daily Bread, etc.). Since his arrival 13 years ago, annual revenue to the ministry has grown by over $20 million. He also served as Executive Producer of the Walk in the Word radio program featuring James MacDonald. Through his efforts, he has managed to more than double the response to the broadcast. Finally, as Director of Marketing for Discovery House Publishing, a division of RBC Ministries, he developed a strategy that increased annual revenue from $300,000 to $2.6 million. Prior to that, Wiley led the growth of Coral Ridge Ministries with Dr. D. James Kennedy for an 11-year period through 1991. He is a graduate of the University of Alabama.

 

Paula Rieck, Vice President of

                    Organizational Development

In her role as Vice President of Organizational Development, Paula oversees all aspects of Human Relations & Resources including recruiting, performance management and employee relations.  Paula began her career teaching inner city children for several years in Milwaukee before moving to Boston to pursue further education. During graduate school she worked as Director of Affiliate Relations at Affinity VideoNet, Inc. and then as Administrator of the Counseling Program at Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary.  After completing her Masters of Counseling degree from Gordon Conwell, Paula worked as a therapist at The Meadows, an addiction treatment center in Wickenburg, Arizona.  Immediately prior to coming to Douglas Shaw & Associates she worked as a Consultant/Trainer for The Efficacy Institute, a not-for-profit agency of education reform focused on maximizing academic achievement and building character development.  Paula brings strong interpersonal relationship and administrative skills to her role and is passionate about empowering DSA employees to serve our clients well.

 

Juergen Huellen, Vice President of

Finance

In his role as VP of Finance, Juergen is responsible for driving the financial systems within DSA by implementing innovative ideas in finance management, cost reduction, internal controls, and productivity/efficiency improvements.  Having worked in both start-up and global organizations, he has significant experience in strategic & tactical planning, budgeting & capital planning, training & development and contract administration.  Juergen possesses a strong entrepreneurial spirit with a total commitment to achieving company objectives and bottom-line results.  He comes from the financial services industry where he has held CFO positions in various insurance brokerage segments with AON Corporation, Marsh & McLennan, and Hilb Rogal & Hobbs.  Juergen holds a Bachelor of Business degree from Western Illinois University and an MBA from Keller Graduate School of Management.  He serves as Vice President of Fundraising for the Chicago Chapter of the Foundation Fighting Blindness and is also active in his local Knights of Columbus council.

 

Dave Conner, Vice President of

Strategic Services

Dave provides leadership and oversight to DSA’s research and tactical account management functions.  He also serves as a senior consultant for several DSA clients.  Beyond this, he is DSA’s “hole in the hedge” guy (as Doug likes to call him) — serving wherever necessary to get the job done. Prior to joining DSA in 2004, Dave spent 14 years in nonprofit management, staff development and cross-cultural leadership while serving with Food for the Hungry International.  Dave and his family spent 10 of those years with FHI in Thailand.  He has also worked in graduate-level distance education, as well as in adult ministries for a local church.  Dave holds a B.A. in Economics and an M.A. in Missions and Intercultural Studies, both from Wheaton College, and a doctorate in Adult Continuing Education and Southeast Asian Studies from Northern Illinois University.
